Tembusu - Cyrtophyllum fragrans

A tree native to Singapore. Buy the Tembusu wood planks here. 

Thickness: 25mm and 50mm

Width : 50mm, 100mm, 150mm and 200mm

Length : 305mm and 610mm

A large evergreen tree that can grow up to 40 m in height. Crown is conical when the tree is young and becomes lofty and irregular as the tree matures. The trunk has distinctive dark brown fissured bark. Leaves are simple, light green in colour, 5-8 cm long. Flowers are creamy white, turning yellow with age, strongly fragrant, especially in the late evenings. Fruit are tiny red berries, taking more than three months to mature. Native to Singapore.

The Tembusu has excellent water-resistant properties. It is suitable to be used as solid wood decking. The tembusu can also be used as wooden chopping boards and cutting boards.

Heavy construction, marine construction, posts, beams, rafters, tool handles (impact), flooring (heavy traffic), and heavy-duty furniture. It has an excellent reputation as a carving timber.
